My study and years of teaching experience are rooted in Hatha Yoga, and my approach often feels different to students who have mainly experienced vinyasa-based yoga practices. So here’s a little info on what to expect when you come to a class with me! I love speaking about yoga studies, lineages, and practices, so feel free to reach out if you have any questions or want to know more.
What is Hatha Yoga?
Hatha Yoga is a space to explore where the breath meets the posture, and what happens when you stay.
It differs from many modern day understandings and interpretations of yoga where there is a strong emphasis on movement and flow. Instead, Hatha Yoga explores stillness. In the traditional practice, any one pose or technique can guide you to higher knowledge, and the student practices listening to their inner awareness in each pose.
In Hatha classes, we use this technique— instead of a constant flow of movement, we pause. We breath steadily in each pose, observing what’s there for us to find out. We layer in additional techniques like pranayama (breath work), mantra, and meditation to guide us deeper into our intuitive awareness. It’s space to feel your breath, connect to your prana, and more deeply acknowledge where you are in the moment.
This allows for students to make adjustments and move at their own rate, creating an ideal environment for an all levels practice.

Astro Gong Yoga
evening hatha | Tuesday / Thursday, 6:30-7:30 pm
This class invites you to step into the steadiness of a Hatha Yoga practice. Through a focus on stillness rather than constant movement, we explore how energy and consciousness shifts through each pose, and what happens when you stay. The practice is intentionally simple, holding poses for several breaths to observe your inner awareness, while layering in additional techniques like pranayama (breath work), mantra, and meditation to guide you deeper into your connection to your inner self.
Here you’ll find space to feel your breath, connect to your prana, and more deeply acknowledge where you are in the moment. This allows for every student to make adjustments as needed and move at their own rate, creating an ideal environment for an all-levels practice.
evening yin | Tuesday / Thursday, 8:00-9:00 PM
Yin is a practice of slow and deep stretching. By holding grounded poses with the use of props, we allow the body time and space to find deep release.
One Down Dog
Flow | Monday, 7:15-8:15 pm
Flow is a practice where we connect deeply with the breath, allowing the mind to get lost in the rhythm and repetition. A flow with me still contains ample space to learn your body's cues and signals as we hold poses that are foundational to self understanding, as well as space to move and release whatever comes up.
Yoga nidra | MondaY, 8:30-9:30 PM
This is a practice of deep rest. Often referred to as yogic sleep, we allow the body to rest via gentle guided meditation, keeping space for awareness open and expansive. Wonderful for stress release and reducing anxiety, Yoga Nidra is an opportunity to be still in a fast paced world.
